The Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam have received as a gift from the Friends of the Library the 1655 reprint of the Koock-boeck by Antonius Magirus. The Friends bought this copy from an antiques dealer who in turn acquired it from the estate of the Flemish folklorist Hervé Stalpaert (1914-1981). So far there was no copy of this rare cookbook in a publicly accessible Dutch library. There exist however two copies of the Koock-boeck in a Dutch private collection. In total only five complete copies of the cookbook of Magirus are preserved. In Belgium there are copies in the Royal Library in Brussels and in the City Library of Antwerp, which has been renamed to Heritage Library Hendrik Conscience.
